Website Hosting

This will be a very short and succinct post as compared to the other ones…

So you’ve already made your website; its up and running, and ready to roll. Then you hit that unforeseen snag. Just where on the internet should you put it? You frantically search the web for website hosting companies, and find millions upon millions of them. And they all look appealing. That is, until you see the price tags on some of them. Then, you stop looking for ‘website hosting’ and type ‘free web hosting’. The search engine comes up with tens upon thousands of results. You start going through them. You then start to realise that they’re not all as good as the paid ones, but you are still reluctant to have to pay for your website hosting. WELL, you can stop looking now. I can recommend to you one site that offers you potentially limitless website hosting opportunities! I’ve used it before, and I’m quite intimate with it, and have utilised and collected its many bounties. It is called x10hosting and offers both free and paid hosting.

I’ll attach links/ads for you, so that you can check them out. x10′s service is amazing, and is very useful if you are just starting a new website. You don’t need to change webhosts even as your website grows, because of x10hosting’s wonderful flexibility, they allow for upgrades and such sort.

They’re really doing a great job! If you are looking for a good, reliable webhosting service, then I’d recommend them to you any day.

Cheers,

sIFR Website…

I have just finished (about 90%) of a website that I was designing (just see the Font Embedding Technology article). It uses sIFR (scalable Inman Flash Replacement), and can be an example for its use. Please note that it will render properly only on a screen resolution of 1024×768 and above. You can find it here.

If you have the curiosity to view the source, then be warned of some horrendous scripting (I haven’t tidied some parts yet), but on the whole it looks OK.

EDIT: (Have Fixed the Code!)

Any comments/suggestions relating to the website/sIFR are welcome. You are even open to criticize the website thoroughly.

Enjoy!

Quotation marksReality Ends at the Imagination’s boundaries

In the land of the unknown, benign, unremarkable, that I knew. In those dark years, those dark sands sifted by, leaving an empty void. What of it, I cannot say, I hear only those ancient whispers, that make the very surroundings tremble…

C++: What’s the big deal?

C++. It’s that obscure force that drives your favourite game. It empowers you to view the web (Mozilla Firefox is entirely based on it). It runs your computer (Windows OS, Linux etc use it). It is a revolution. Welcome! to the new age.

Help! Virus Attack!

Quotation marksCo…m…pu…t….er….. its stuck! HELP!

_____________________________________________________________

So, there you are, on a bright, sunny day, and you switch on your computer, that has now become almost addictive. And what does it do? It freezes. Just like that. A slap in your face. Then, you start getting angry, and start cursing the computer. A little while later, you come back to your senses and turn it on again. Nothing. You try again, frustration mounting. The screen flickers for a moment, like the flutter of eyelids. It goes blank again. This time, you punch the CPU, but it does nothing but hurt your hand. You try again. It turns on. You start thinking that the computer has learned its lesson (Never freeze on me). It holds up long enough for you to run a virus scan. It takes 6 hours to complete (Preposterous!). It turns out that there are 1700 Trojans on it, apart from a whole host of spy-ware and ad-ware. You give the software the go-ahead to EXTERMINATE the virii (plural of virus, lol). Just when it seemed to be working, something happens and a huge pop-up fills you screen, saying “Computer going nighty-night” and suddenly crashes. You let out an almighty roar, but that too fails to solve the problem at hand. You give up, trying not to break down, and sigh – “Co…m…pu…t…er”, that comes out as if a robot who was being powered down was saying it. Then, you shout for help. No one answers.
